Essence of Angelina

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you all know that this site isn’t dead and I haven’t lost interest in Angelina. What has happened is I’ve moved house and don’t have a pc anymore. I use my partners to check email but it is dial up and the pc is old so I am unable to make any proper updates without frying the pc.

I will be back as soon as I can be with regular updates and also everything I have missed out on. That includes Public Appearance Pics and news etc etc.

As reported a few days ago, Angelina was in Iraq and did an exclusive interview with CNN. My darling Riikka has sent in the video plus caps for our viewing pleasure. The caps are up now and the video will follow soon. Enjoy!

Sadly Angelina didn’t win the award for Actress of the Year for A Mighty Heart at the London Critics Circle Film Awards on Friday. The award went to Marion Cotillard.

Some more photos of Angelina’s recent trip to Iraq have surfaced. She is meeting with top officials to demand help for people displaced by the war.

I have started to cap the blockbuster, Mr and Mrs Smith but will post them over two days seen as there was so many extras. I enjoyed the Mrs and Mrs Smith Crew Photo Album the most. It was fun to see Angelina goofing around on set and just being on the set itself, it was exciting.

The nominations for the 2008 Sony Ericsson Empire Awards are in! Fans vote for what they want and they have nominated Angelina for Best Actress Angelina Jolie (A Mighty Heart). The winners will be announced on Sunday, March 9. Good luck, Angie!

Angelina has made a trip to Iraq and it is a follow up to a visit to the region six months ago. According to a press statement it marks a “mission to support and implement joint solutions to assist Iraqi’s displaced population.”

Angelina traveled to Baghdad with Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky “to discuss US humanitarian relief efforts for internally displaced persons and conflict victims.” She also met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Immigration and Refugees Minister Abdel Samad Rahman Sultan and had lunch with American troops serving in Iraq after earlier meeting their top commander, General David Petraeus. And to top it off she also held talks in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone with UN head of mission Staffan di Mistura and met a group of internally displaced people.

A Press Conference was scheduled but later cancelled, instead Angelina gave an interview to CNN:

“There are over two million displaced people and there never seems to be a real coherent plan to help them,” she said.

“There’s lots of goodwill and lots of discussion but there seems to be a lot of talk at the moment and a lot of pieces that need to be put together.”

“Of the two million internally displaced, it’s estimated 58 percent are under 12 years old. It’s a very high number of people in a very, very vulnerable situation and a lot of young kids,” Jolie told CNN.

“So far, the different US officials I met with and different local people I’ve met with all have shared concerns, very, very strongly. They have spoken out about the humanitarian crisis, but there seems to be a block in.

“I don’t have the answers, but I know this is one thing that needs to be addressed and solved. (There needs) to be a real presence here to help count the people and register the people.”
